Which calcium reactor?

Like Sang said, PH is overated. I really don't know anyone who runs their tank at 8.3. I am sure there are, but ph is less important than other parameters such as Alk, CA, and MG

Update:

BPM=60
Effluent=50ml

pH=7.81
Calcium=425
Alk=10 (normally runs 8'ish before calcium reactor)

Should I be concerned with the Alk rising like that?

is your Ca steady? Reactor shouldn't raise your levels, only maintain.

Ca is steady but Alk seemed to move. I'm going to reduce Co2 a bit...

Mike, you could try to increase your effluent rate a bit as well. This should lower your Alk and raise your pH (did you see that in the manual?)

Yeah, saw that as well tbone28. I wasn't sure which was better so I thought with lowering bpm first.

BPM=30
Effluent=50ml
pH=8.0
Calcium=425
Alk=11

Mike. Your ALK is creaping up. Slow down your effluent and your CO2. Alk is much more damaging than low PH.
