money is an issue get coralife ss (but a lot of people have truble setting them up right

I have a CSS skimmer and for the bucks you can not beat it. Deltec is the cadillac of skimmers but for the money go with CSS. FOr a 55 gal with that much rock I would go with 125 gal model. Its quiet and runs smooth> this way you could afford a overflow and sump to boot. That would be your best bet.

The css is a great skimmer for the price, I would imagine the deltec is better, but it is much more expensive. The deltec will look better and take up less room. Old Mike
