Which magnet holder for 6080

Hi,
I have two 6080 - A streams and a 220 gallon tank with glass about 0.5 inches thick. Can you recommend which magnetic holders I should use?

You would need 6080.500 for up to 1/2". 6200.500 for up to 3/4" Honestly 6200.500 is not worth it for these pumps, they are about $120 and you can buy a 6085 with magnet holder for up to 1/2" for $180. These older magnet holders were designed around rare earth magnets which have gone up exponentially in cost over the last year, the newer ones of the 6085 have enough room to allow ferrite magnets to work and this has kept the cost of these magnets much lower.

Thanks Roger.

Not 100% sure tho, when you say "you can buy a 6085 with magnet holder for up to 1/2" for $180" do you mean the "6080.5" magnet holder like this one

or is there a "6085" magnet holder?

You say $180 but I see the 6080.500 for well under $100 some places.

The 6080.500 is about $55, this is fine, if your glass is 1/2" or less, this is what I would do, but please double check the glass thickness, usually 180 is the biggest standard tank with 1/2" glass and a 210 typically has 5/8" or 3/4".

However, if your glass is thicker than 1/2", I would personally not consider the stronger 6200.500 a worthwhile investment at $120, when you can buy the new model 6085 which includes a magnet holder for 1/2" for $180 and for an additional $35 it can be upgraded to 3/4".

ok thanks. I'll go double check the thickness of my class. I personally thought it was bigger than 1/2 but when i measured last night it looked exactly 1/2, or slightly less. So as long as its 1/2" or less Im fine?

Ok I see now. the 6085 is the entire pump with the magnet. I was looking for a seperate magnet. Cool. Yea, my pumps are 6 years old (you originally helped me pick them :-) ) and they've been holding up find. But if my glass is too thick I will just upgrade pumps.

Hi roger, just wanted to let you know I purchased two 6080.5's and they work great! My 220 gallon does indeed have .47 in glass. And I really think this small purchase will improve the quality if the tank immensely! The flow is so much better now. thanks for the guidance.
