Which RODI system do you recommend?

AZBigJohn

Usually confused...
I know we live in the same state as Spectrapure (although I live in NW Phoenix, so it is still a distance) but I wanted to see which system everyone out here uses.

Is the Spectrapure system worth the extra expense? Is the BRS system as effective?

I am trying to decide between these two system:
The SpectraPure system - Spectrapure

Or the BRS - BRS System

I am looking to set up a 155 gallon bowfront, so if that helps in the thought process...

I have a Air,Water & Ice. Extreme Typhoon 3 and love it. Never had any problems. They also have different choices to fit what you need. I don't think I can post their site but it can be GOOgled

discount has a new RO/DI unit for sale $110 for the whole unit for 50GPD, I think they might have a 100GPD version also. Everything comes in the kit except the 1/4" tubing.

I have all but decided to go that route, I could save $10 by going through amazon for a similar 50GPD system but would like to support the LFS. also my system is only a 46g, so 50GPD is fine for me.

edit: After looking at that Typhoon three system Skareef posted you cant go wrong with that one if you need that flow and it has a nice aray of meters built in.

It's very much worth the price difference.

Not only do the filters last longer, but you'll get truly 0 TDS for longer as well.

True. Look into the refurbished Spectrapure models, which can be upgraded with better filters for a similar cost of the BRS.

Spectrapure. If you need replacement parts, filters or resin it's nice to know you can buy it in town. If the drive is to far they can ship it to you.

Ill put a bid in for Spectrapure as well. I was able to buy a refurbished 90GPD RO/DI for like $120 and love it. I had never owned one and picked it up from them and they were so wonderful and nice to talk to and give me a full run down of the equipment. I ended up tightening one of the filters too much and had a problem, ran it down to them and they helped out. I understand it is a drive, but also allows you to visit the LFS nearby!
Either way, I save more money than driving to go get RODI, love having a system at home.

Refurbished SpectraPure 90GPD and a HM handheld TDS meter. I buy the replacement filter packs directly from SpectraPure for like 30 bucks twice a year.

Being able to make RO/DI on demand in your house is so great - one of the first upgrades a "serious reefer" should buy.

Refurbished SpectraPure 90GPD. Local and you can get replacement parts from them locally! Great units and the staff is awesome. They will take the time and explain things to you.
