Whistling Skimmer

So I've had a Reef Octopus 150SSS running for about 2-3 weeks now. It makes a terrible whistling noise out of the cap on the adjustment tube. If pop the cap off, the whistle stops but then you get all the skimmer noise. I've thought about maybe enlarging the hole in the cap and then redialing the skimmer in, but wanted to see if there were any other thoughts?

I am not sure its the same because of different type of skimmer. buy my Skimz skimmer will do this from time to time. On my Skimmer its caused by a tiny snail or something getting inside the venturi injection port on the front of the pump . it does not even have to be over he hole itself just anywhere in the ring around on the inside of the nozzle.

Worth a try maybe ..

Make sure the tube inside is not attached to the cap. The tube should just be floating in the chamber. It slows the flow into that hole in the top.

If it were me I would try to radius the edge of the air hole before I made it bigger. that should get rid of the whistle without letting any more noise from the venturi through.
