White in two days....

I have two pieces of sps that turned totally white in the last 36 hours. My sunset Monti was doing great and growing at a good pace. Recently I was having a problem with my all not going higher than 8. My lfs suggested I use alkalin 8.3 and over the course of a week I was able to raise it up to 9.3 but in doing so my ca dropped to 300 and I noticed that on Saturday. So I started adding turbo calcium and over a 4 day period I was able to get it up to 400. Now all of a sudden this is what I have.....and the rainbow Monti in top of the picture is struggling as well.

My params are....
Sg 1.026
Ph 8.2 to 8.30
Ca 400
Alk 9.3
Mg 1350
Everything else is at zero.

Could the large swing in ca levels do this?

The drastic changes over the course of a few days might have stressed them out and caused them to bleach. 8.3 is not a bad range for SPS. I keep mine around 7.5-8.

I'm curious as well. My superman monti has started to turn white but everything else is thriving. The monti still has good pe though. Mine is in the line of fire from my return output. I dose 2 part directly in my return line but at very diluted amounts over the course of a couple hours. Im curious as too what you find out so I'll tag along.

I do run gfo and gac in reactors. In doing some research I'm thinking this is rapid tissue necrosis based on the things I read and some pictures I saw. About a month ago I also had a birdsnest that just died over night. I didn't find much as to what to do to prevent other than keep stress to minimum in the tank as far water quality goes.
