I suggest reading here. White spot is the fresh water term, in salt water, it is a related, but different parasite called cryptocaryon irritans.

There are several diseases or parasites where fish may be displaying white spots: Cryptocaryon irritans (protozoan), Brooklynella hostilis (protozoan), Amyloodinium ocellatum (protozoan), Lymphocystis (viral),... and bacterial infections.
To apply the right treatment you first need to identify (as good as possible) which kind of infection you are dealing with. If you are unlucky, you may be dealing with several at the same time.

The best approach is always to quarantine fish.

I start usually with a 50 minute formalin bath (5 drops of formalin 37% per liter). This usually takes care of Brooklynella, Uronema, Trichodina, some flukes and quite a few others.

After that I usually observe new fish for 2 months and treat them as needed.

Against Cryptocaryon you can do prophylactically tank transfers (4 transfers every 3 days - search "TTM" or "Tank Transfer Method" for more details).

Amyloodinium is most reliably treated with Chloroquine Phosphate (New Life Spectrum Ich-Shield Bath Powder). Be warned that some fish (pipefish, seahorses, sertain wrasses) don't handle CP well. Those need to be treated with copper.

CP may also work against Cryptocaryon and Uronema, though no conclusive studies have been published on this so far.

As for your current display tank - since you have no live rock, the safest option to rid your system of diseases would be to sterilize the entire tank and equipment and start over cycling from scratch.
At the same time you should treat the fish in a separate tank with the appropriate medication.
