White spots on trigger - not ich

One of our Niger triggers has slowly developed these white marks on its body. It is definitely not ich, but it has (after one month) begun to show on one of our other triggers (Hawaiian black). None of the other fish are affected (lionfish, puffer, grouper, snapper).

No fish have been added for over a year, the fish eats well and behavior is unchanged. Params have been pretty much the same for years, so I doubt they have anything to do with this: pH 8.2, salinity 20ppt (fish only system), alk 7dKH, NH4 0, NO2 0, NO3 ~25ppm, PO4 0.4ppm, temp 77F. Any ideas?

Looks like Lymphocystis, always caused by stress. Those fish aren't in a 34g tank right?

I hope those fish are in a tank larger than 34gal. Triggers need very large tanks (180 gal +).

That was a guess of mine, but odd for it to appear on the one of the most dominant fish in the tank that nothing bullies - and not on the tips of fins where it usually arises. I suppose it's time for some super water changes!

It's about 12" long if you count the streamers!

Indeed! This tank is about 700 gallons (10'x3'x3').

Check for stray voltage maybe? Last time I used cupramine it caused a emperor to get lymph, other than that I haven't seen it again.

Will check for voltage. It's conceivable that some piece of equipment has developed a fault. Hopefully not the now irreplaceable DC skimmer pump I'm running!
