Nice fish, it's definitely on my top 5 list when I get my 7' 210 up and running. Is this the only time of year they are collected and put up for sale? haven't seen many for sale since I found out about these beauts!

Sorry for not posting pics up yesterday but I will in a few minutes. The tang is doing great and I am very happy with my purchase. I have been waiting for a very long time for this fish so I needed to order it right when I saw it available. I just upgraded my lights as well so this definitely pushed me out of budget for the tank. Pictures arent the greatest but its difficult to get this fish to sit still and I am trying not to spook it too much.

I hope it does well for you. Mine is doing well and was aggressive at feeding time tonight chomping on some PE Mysis, blood worms, frozen cyclopeeze among other things.

Vigorously eating pellets now and loves frozen as well. Things are looking great! Hope yours does well as well.
he seems very active.. Looks great, he picks alot at the algae buildup on the glass, i tried to feed him some nori, left it in for about 30 minutes but he didn't seem intrested so i took it out.. THru in a pellet and i haven't been able to find it so he may have eaten it already. I'll probbaly try frozen tonight and see how he reacts!

Honestly 30 min isn't enough time on the nori. With my tomini who is very shy he would eat in front of me for weeks so leaving nori in for 30 min is not long enough to give the fish time to eat or explore this new food. I wrapped a strip to a rock and left it in during work and came home to a nori-less rock so leave it in all day

Every fish in my tank destroys nori like its candy. I think the hard part is convincing him its food. Thats why food dips word so well.
ya i was wondering about leaving it in longer but i still don't trust my QT so i didn't want o leave it in 2 long and have an ammonia issue. The QT has been setup for months but i haven't had anything in it for a couple months so trying to gently get the bacteria to build back up.
Are all your white tail's in QT or did you guys put them in DT? Any issues yet with any of them? all the pics and mine definitely seem very healthy

You can leave nori in the tank for twelve hours I'd say. If you want to put it in the morning and take it out when you go to bed or put it in at night before you go to bed and take it out and the morning and see if he nibbles at it. Sometimes fish are shy about eating in front of you at first. Just a suggestion.

My fish was pretty shy the first few days but seems to be coming out more and more. Here are some better pics:
I had a purple tang in QT for 12 weeks, and while it ate well, whenever I put nori in a clip into the tank, the fish just ignored it. Fast forward to the purple being introduced into the DT, seeing the other fish go crazy for the stuff, it was eating from the clip within an hour!

My white tail is in QT and will remain there for a few weeks. I dont want to risk anything getting into my DT and I dont want to introduce the tang into the DT until it is fattened up and very healthy. It looks very healthy as it is and is eating everything I put into the tank but you never know if it came in with anything. I dont medicate unless it is absolutely needed though. So it can be in QT for 6-8 weeks and not be medicated because the fish is fine the whole time. Just some things to think about. Of course this is everything I have learned from RC lol.
