White vinegar good for lowering ph

I want to lower the pH in my QT tank to match the pH of my fish's shipping water which is 7.4

Is white vinegar acceptable to use? How much is too much? The pH is 8.16 now and want it a little lower so it is closer to the bag water to reduce the acclimation time.

Would a water change the next day be prudent to dilute the vinegar?

Blow bubbles into the tank. The Co2 from you breath will lower ph. It may take a lot of blowing. But it ultimately depends how big your quarantine is. Adding vinegar to the tank is not good because it also lowers oxygen when bacteria get ahold of it. Thats somthing you dont want for a new fish.

I wouldn't worry too much about the pH difference in this case. The acclimation process should bring it close enough while adjusting for SG. If the SG is matching, then a couple of 30% water changes should be fine for acclimation. The vinegar might deplete oxygen a bit, as mentioned, so I wouldn't try that.

I used vinegar to lower ph one time and I had a huge white, slime bacteria bloom which took a couple weeks to get rid of
