Who ate my clown!

So I woke up today from a nap, was heading back to work. Before stepping out, I noticed the smaller of two clowns was missing. Didn't have much time to investigate, had to go.

Well, I just came home he was still missing. Everything else seemed normal. Now, I recently added a Haddoni a few weeks ago that is in excellent shape. My first guess was he ate the clown. Both clowns really weren't taking to carpet, figured it could happen. I was about to investigate by searching the overflows and eliminating other possibilities.

Other fun fact, one of my smaller firefish also went missing last week when I was on vacation. Now, he was very skittish, never went near the anemone, but figured "could" happen.

So my tank is stocked with:

Now one Ocellaris clown, most likely female.
Powder Blue Hybrid
now one firefish goby
yellow eye kole tang
dwarf flame angel
one spot foxface
royal gramma
lantern basslet
10" haddoni

Where did the clown go! Take your guesses, I found out where.

I would be observing your hadonni for bones nearby the next couple days.
If they had adapted to it yet, very probable.
Firefish skittish, easily could have hit it.

Zero bones near the anemone from the firefish last week. Been at least 7 days.

The fire fish's bolt hole was also on the other side of the tank, never went to that area. I thought it was the Haddoni, its not. :)

It wasn't the sump or overflow. That was my first thought when I got home.

Big hint: One of the fish listed.

The carpet is innocent until proven guilty.

Lol, it's wasn't the Haddoni! I'm still shocked on who did it. Look at the hint.

Anyway, need to get some sleep sooooo.......

The guilty party was then Lantern Basslet. Swallowed the clown whole. Earlier in the year swallowed our cleaner shrimp whole. He looks 8 months pregnant swimming around the tank right now.

Haddoni breathes a sigh of relief and goes back to dreaming of catching one of the fish.

Haddoni.

Haddoni.

Yes, lantern bass will eat small fish and shrimp. But your haddoni will eventually succeed.

Yeah, he will. He's gotten very healthy and strong. I accidentally got my Nori PVC pipe close to and it it took some work the get it safely removed. They are far stronger and stickier than they appear.

Been about three weeks, which will come first the Haddoni catching a fish, or my catching the lantern basslet and getting him out of the tank?
