Who has a large hole saw?

Anyone here have a large hole saw? I need to have some washers of sorts made to cover up some chipped glass around some holes that were drilled in my tank for a closed loop. With out these I do not think there is a safe way to get a seal with the bulk heads.

These would be for two 3/4" bulk heads.

These would be for four 1/2" bulk heads.

And here you can hopefully see why I need them.</CENTER>

Thats an idea, but the main reason I bought the tank was so I didn't have to go at the expensive tank with a dremel.

I have used acrylic "bushings" for this in the past. See if you can use a large hole saw to cut out a larger circle of acrylic, clear or colored. Then drill out the hole in the center of the acrylic disk to the size you need for the bulkhead. Then put some silicone on the acrylic and apply it to the inside of the tank around the hole in the glass. Then gently place the bulkhead, from the inside of the tank, through the acrylic and then the glass and tighten it just enough to make the silicone fill the gap between the glass and the acrylic but NOT oozing out into the bulkhead's hole and onto the threads.

Essentially you have made a gasket out of acrylic and sealed it to the inside wall of the glass tank. The bulkhead will seal against the acrylic and the acrylic against the glass via the silicone. I have fixed a BUNCH of cracked bulkhead holes this way. I haven't had any problems yet.

That is basically what I was trying to do Sean. I just don't have a large hole saw and wasn't sure if this was the best idea. Luckily though about 3 people have offered to make me them for free and one really reputable poster has told me this is probably the best route.

Sean I took your advice and followed your instructions it seems that they will work well. The rings I made I didn't really use hole saws to make and they look like crap, but I am tired of waiting, so I am just going to use what I have.

I would like to order some hole saws that will work on glass or acrylic. Any suggestions as to what I am looking for? Perhaps point me at an ebay auction.
