Who has the oldest fish?

My fire clown is 16 and I had a cusk eel or brutlyd which I killed by accident which was 18

Percula Clown (Female) 22 years and counting. She is on her second husband. Proabably laid eggs 15 times a year for over 15 years of the 22 I've had her..

i wish or a just some food after paying my bills latly ive had to choose food for fish or food for me and of course i choose food for my fish

the longest i ever got a fish to live was 6 years and still going..my porcupine puffer..my mother has him now and feeds him shrimp from wallmart haha

Had a blue ring angel that I got in 1977 that was the size of a quarter when I set up my 150 gal. tank, he was still in that tank in 2001 when he passed at the age of 24 and was 16 inches in length. Seven months after that the tank split a corner seem and I replaced it with a 240 gal. I still to this day miss seeing him coming up to the side of the tank to greet me when I came home.

I have a 14+ year old clown and several fish that I've had for over 7 years (naso tang, purple tang, 2 yellow tangs).

I did have a kole tang for 12 years before it passed.

A 17 year old tang that is only 7in long and people say aquariums dont stunt fishes growth. I know yellows dont get as big as some, but 7in in 17 years is pretty small.

We can not duplicate ocean reefs even with large tanks and the latest high tech equipment we have .
Most of the yellows get about 8" or 9" in the wild any way .
But i definitely agreed with you the fish in our tanks only get about 70% to the size of the wild brothers.

Great success stories. And yes, living in a tank stunts growth.
I had a hippo tang for about 12 years and it grew to about 5".
I had one in a 40 gallon tank for about 5 years and it grew to about 4"

I had a niger trigger for 5 years he was the easyest fish to move he had a rock that he would go in to all the time so when it was time to move he went in the rock and I just took the rock out.I know he would have lived longer if my tank hadn't of crashed for no reason.

I'm the guy with the Undulated Moray - Hannibal is his name. He is now somewhere over 20 - I think about 22, and going strong. I would like to someday turn his tank into a reef (6' 150g), but at the rate it's going, he may very well outlive me! I even tried to give him to the Columbus Zoo a few years back - they didn't want him- undulated morays are VERY aggressive and will eat anything they think might fit in their mouths. hence the name....

I agree, I've never had a fish outgrow my tank ever. Maybe there are certain species that this may not apply, but I've never experienced or seen it.

Current fish-------

Puprle Tang 7-8"- grew maybe 2 inches in the 16+ years I've had him. He has been in a 180g tank most of his life.

Maroon Clown Pair-8 years
Taupou Damsel- 9 years
Muelleri Cobberband-5 years

The only fish I had that outgrew the rank was a remora.
The thing grew about an inch a day and was about a foot long in a few months. I donated it to the Coney Island Aquarium
