ussual suspect xian. they some are so slow at eating that it can lead to malnutrition. not your fault but a common issue. ive seen other sea horses eat faster than one so as that one couldnt eat. sucks but a true delema. if you havent visited my thread ...i started a sea horse tank and its going well. got a male and a female that i hope will eventuallyn pair up. had to remove an emerald crab from the tank as stated by matt he would grab at thier tails and i couldnt have that...so off he went. he got a home in a friends tank.
got them at union . they got a few tuesday and they started eating 5 minutes after acclamating them! they are tank raised . it really shows as they ate live brine and frozen mysis shrimp! i posted pictures.
I'm going to try some (true?)turtle grass, Codium taylori, and 2 types of mangroves (I had one in an old refugium and it grew quite well. will be plenty of room in new tank for it to grow). Glad I don't need to resort to Calerpa!
The do have a great plant selection- best I've come across, and prices are quite reasonable.
As an update- the pod population is taking hold. Caught a lot when I broke down the tub (and some very cool worms as well- one reminded me of the worms from Dune).
