Well, it's only a $5 difference from the individual to family membership, so for the $5 you can get a family membership.

Sounds like a good idea, but it's true for that the person should just get the family plan. Plus if they get a new g-friend or wife it would cover her too...(i think)

Im actually tryin to get her to like it.. so I figured if she went to this meet(would be my first also) she might like it, and stop harrasing me about how much money is spent.. hopefully she will understand?

My personal opinion is that letting anyone in free is not going to fly and unfair for the paying members, however I think a girlfriend would constitute fairly in a family membership.

I'd say $5 g/f rate is fair. Even better (or for the same price more or less) would be what J-C said, which would be to use a family membership to cover them.

Personally, I would want to enjoy the whole frag swap with out the girlfriend or wife if possible, I hate going with other people to LFS cause I usually missed all the good stuff because I have to be looking at everything they point out! "Look at this" "what is that" "is this how much it is?"
Tomorrow is my day (at least from 1 to 4) the wife kids and dog are staying home!

i def think the 5 dollars is fair..i paid it last year and 20 dollars isnt alot for a family membership..thereare some clubs who are almost twice as much for just a single membership.

Back to being excited ..im so much more pumped about this one than the last..im more knowlegable about reefing and my tank is setup better...hoping to get some great frags tomorrow.Im not sure if im gonna sleep tonight so if anyone catches me sleeping in the corner just kick me haha.

Well I did not know that. $5 why quibble about it. So here is what I say. $5 g-friend with a paid member or you can upgrade for $5 to the family rate. Its only $5.


FMAS Membership $15
Uograding to the family membership $5
Going to the frag swap alone PRICELESS!

5$ is fair whether shes a wife or girlfriend, I think its just a good way to give back to the club regardless. Makes it easy to str8 20$ to collect.

Well guys, I spoke with several board members and listened to what all had to say. The tally ended up being 10 for the family membership and 4 (generously) for letting the gf or wife in free. In a case like this youre never going to make everyone happy. I have decided that it will be best if we allow the "couples" to purchase a fa,ily membership for $5 extra ($20 total) and they can both get in.

I'm with Greg though...super excited!

I know I was one of the people that brought up the question, and I did not see an issue with the $5. Personally I considered it an admission price for her, since she is not "into" the hobby...

Unlike the silent auctions, the club isn't making anything off the frags.
(Well..., also your sponsor fee)

I think the $5 upgrade/gf admission is fair.
Like some other members I bought the family membership just in case.
