Who to contact about joining

Hello,

I'm very interested in joining your club after all I've heard about it. Are your dues pro-rated depending on when you join? If so, how much do I need to pay and who do I send my money to? All major forms of cash accepted?

And has a time been determined for the next meeting? I'd really like to make it up.

Zac~ Welcome!!!!!!! Hook up with EvilMel... She's the Treasurer this year... Dues I believe are prorated... But I think they're coming up soon anyhow... You can come to a meeting and meet us all first if you like... Pay Mel or the almighty President extraordinare Matthew (Fishboy42)... Think Mel is priorly engaged... You can trust those two with your $$$ the rest of us??? I'm not so sure... lol Oh and if you're coming to the meeting be sure and harass Mel beforehand so she remembers to bring the membership cards...

Where in East Tennessee are you? The Tri-Cities reef club will be meeting on March 31st. We are in the Bristol, Kingsport, Johnson City area. Just a heads up for ya.

Probably a bit far. The ETRC is about the limit I can drive. I do accept donations for gas, however.

Oh, and Mel, ctvol has a good idea. The laminated ones sound great. A waterproof membership card would be a big plus, haha!

Athens??? I'm not sure the water is safe for a reef down there... Even after putting it through an RO/DI... lol JK... But not much down there by ways of Reefing for sure... Lots of Cows... Oh... You're close to that Scubs Outlet...

What's Scubs Outlet? Cows for sure. I used to live on a dairy farm. Still have cows though. They get loose and get in my yard all the time. I won't tell you how I know.

Not too many people know what a reef is and saltwater in general is pretty much a mystery. That is with most of the people I meet. I hear there are a LOT of reefkeepers in athens and farther south, but I'm not convinced yet.

The water comes out of the tap at 8.4 pH. I'm not quite sure what's in it. I contacted the local water company and they haven't gotten back. I asked for a report, haha!

Ahhh I know what SCRUBS is, lol.

We have lots of wonderful things down in this area. We have one of the biggest super wal-marts in the state. That's an acheivement. It's also one of the top 10 in size in the country! Oh yeah, go Athens! Still has a sucky fish department though. Only "fish store" in town.

We also just got a steak and shake. :celeb1:

I won't consider Athens a true city until we get more than one Red Lobster like Knoxville.

When I was younger I thought West Knoxville WAS Knoxville. Just recently... yes, I'm 22... I found out there's more to Knoxville than West Knoxville, lol. PLUS I found out you guys have more than one Red Lobster! Now that's a city.

I was under the impression that West Knoxville still is Knoxville... Or at least all that matters besides campus...

Fish? I fish. It's hypocritical, I know. LOL. I plan on catching an atlantic croaker this year in North Carolina and bringing it home. That would be really cool. No telling how big it will get though. Something tells me I need to research...

We also found small starfish, seahorses, and crabs. It was a pretty wild trip.

When I said "fish store"... I meant "local fish store" for aquarium supplies.

I assume Mel pointed you to our official site, if not ETRC and go to join ETRC tab to give unutilized info about you/tanks.

Now you have to get used to our :uzi: hijacks. There's no official rule but this thread is good and ready!


We need to get 4-5 people to do a charter trip with deep sea fishing! Get someone with a crew cab truck and we'll drive to East coast or Gulf coast on late Friday night just in time to board the boat, fish full day Saturday, stay the night in town (drinking and cards) and head home Sunday with coolers full of fish! Bachelor party? :celeb3:
