I netted my toads down to rubble and they grabbed on fairly quick.

I think that is what I am going to do. How long before they began to look like mini toadstools? thanks

leather mushrooms - Some folks use toothpicks to hold them to the rock or plug, some use needle and sewing thread (run the thread through the frag once or twice and then tie around the rock). Others just place them on the plug/rock and wrap bridal veil or some type of mesh around them to hold them down until they attach.
As to when they will start looking like little toadstools, it all depends on how small you cut it, angles, etc. - if I frag a large toadstool cap into nine pieces, it usually takes three months. If I am working with the stalk, it will generate a new decent cap in about six weeks.
Rics - yes, definitely squirt for the first few days to reduce slime buildup
