Hi,

Parking near the aquarium can be pretty expensive, but you
sure can leave your car on the aquarium side of the harbor
and take a water taxi to the Hyatt.

It's ten bucks, flat rait, to park at the Hyatt. That's a bargain in Boston.

Lammy, there was no one watching the lot on the right, at the Hyatt, when I pulled up at around 5pm. I cruised right in - gratis.

I just got home. For those of you that were there, and I didn't meet, I apologize.
I met a ton of great people, and really had a great time!

It was great meeting you Larry... looking forward to those member group buys we talked about. Hywnboy... I saw you and was planning on saying hello but you appeared to be deep in conversation at the moment... and then you disappeared (just how DO you do that anyway? :^).

Nice to see some nice folks!

Reef On!

Hywnboy, I saw you too and you disappeared like the wind :) I wanted to say hello.

ReefWraith, I am not sure if I saw you or not. I don't know your alter ego ;)

WHEW I FINALLY got home....delayed planes...our plane hit the runway accelerated to depart then stopped and came back to the gate....1 hour delay there...wow. I was so worried about my transports.

lol I have my mind constantly running in 10 directions...sorry. I am usually 3 steps ahead of where I am at the moment....BUT if there is food in front of meo ra beautiful woman. That's your best chance.

I got some awseome pieces and a couple more teardrops to add to my collection. I will post pics soon. Sorry I missed you guys but I will be at the next IMAC. =)

LOL you got that PAF tear drop!
I got to hang with you Ed, Bob, Carlos, Dave, and a few other after hours in the tent and it was a blast.
Thanks for the drinks, info, and laughs.
I have a few pics of that clam too so I'll send them on to you.

Thanks was cool hanging with you too...the LA guys are a blast. Actually though I bought 2 of em :D

I cant wait just acclimated them and they look gorgeous.

I just got all my corals in my tank as well. I didn't get any from the Walt Smith collection, but I did get some from the Coral Propagation workshop and from Dr Mac. I was worried about the corals in the belly of my plane, but baggage handlers didn't kill the box and all the bags were still full of water when I collected my luggage.

It was nice to come home and see the 280g was still doing well.

It was so great to meet you guys, drink and hang out. I already signed up for MACNA XVII in D.C. next year. Hopefully beers won't be $5 each.

Glad to see you got home Marc.

My bags were leaking pretty badly. I had to put four of the corals and one clam directly into the tank as virtually all the water was gone. Hopefully they will make it.

Yeah I think beers will be $6 next year. :-)

Kip

I think the hosting club should get a clause in their contract with the hotel that allows their card-carrying members to get them at $2 each. Hosting MACNA is such a huge ordeal that they deserve some special treatment.

Kip, I'm sorry to hear the bags were leaking!!!!!!!!!!!! I had all my stuff double or even triple bagged, in a insulated box. At the airport, I requested they put my box in the plastic rubbermade tray so that it would be cushioned from other luggage, but it didn't happen.

I did however have it personally inspected before they taped it shut. At that point I marked it "fragile" in several spots and put a smiley face in case the baggage guys were trying to decide if my box needed 'the special treatment'.

After everything was floated for an hour, I opened all my bags one by one over a bucket and only added the corals to my tank, keeping the transport water out of my system. I know during the conference we learned about dipping and such, but at 1:30 am I just wanted my livestock into a healthy tank. I hope it stays that way with the new arrivals!

We still have a sticky to this thread in our club site for Madison Area Reef Society, can someone remove the sticky for this thread?

Thanks

Go to the thread, open it and use the Report this post button to ask a Mod for that forum to unstick it.

I will be attending and I think another 4 or 5 other members of our club wil be attending as well.

I don't know how you stumbled upon this thread, but MACNA XVI was several years ago. The next MACNA is XX (20), and will be in Atlanta this September.

Ha! :)

I was in our club forum here on RC making a post and there was a MACNA sticky. I didn't even notice it was for a previous year.

Guess I need to get the Mods to delete that thread.
