Hi there my fellow reef nuts :):spin2:
Thought I would post a thread to let anyone who didn't know that next weekend is the house of fins "splash" event. I attended last year and it was a blast! They had food, some cool speakers, and some amazing fish and corals! One of the coolest ,I thought, was a flying fish! I had a better personality than a few people I know lol. If you put your finger into the tank it would swim over to "say hello".

The speakers were ok too ;)
The store is very cool and the staff there is very knowlagable. On fb they have some posts of some of the fish and corals as well as a lineup of all the speakers. I'm looking forward to hearing Bob Fenner and would love to go back on Sunday for Justin Grabel.
Some of you may or may not know house of fins used to be a club sponsor and were very very generous to the club. A few threads slamming the store on our club forum persuaded the store owners to discontinue thier sponsorship of us. They were awesome to us and loosing them is very unfortunate. However we are very welcome to attend and I'm sure they will be looking forward to seeing some of us there.

Just in case anyone is tempted, we all know they are not the cheapest shop. They set very high standards for any aquarium shops and their prices reflect that. *If you do not have nice things to say about HOF, please refrain from posting in this thread!!!!* Sorry but I felt that needed to be said.

I encourage anyone who hasn't been to attend, and look forward to seeing the folks that were there last year! Here's a link to the event info on fb

See ya there or be square ;P

I went last year also and it was a great time. I wish I could go this year but I'm busy next weekend. Anyone who decides to go will not be disappointed by the displays and speakers. I also highly recommend going if you are able to.

House of Fins is an excellent place. I went there recently and the staff was really and well informed, I was extremely impressed with the neatness of the store and all the tanks were immaculate, I will try and make it there next week for sure

Scott did a aquascaping symposium in southborough MA when I saw him speak... Very cool and informative, as well as extremely thought provoking... Which is what I really look for as far as something to learn from and aspire to... I've never been to said LFS, but I'm sure it will be a great gathering and learning experience... Wish it was closer... Have fun everyone

I joined this Facebook event and was notified it was cancelled anyone know anything about this?

Well this was the house of fin's Facebook post from 2 hours ago:

Another long day of unpacking boxes for SPLASH! We've got tons of livestock and dry goods for just about everybody, including you freshwater aficionados - such as this utterly metallic Electric Blue Dempsey!

So I assume it's still on.

I'll definitely be there.. In dire need of a big diamond watchman goby.
