Just like the title states. I know mine isn't the biggest out there but it's easily over a foot across and getting bigger fast! Here a photo of mine for reference. Please forgive the quality of the photo, it's hard to take a picture and hold a ruler at the same time.
Yeah, I love Jordan's. I've seen it in person and it almost touched both sides of his 24" cube tank. It was actually much bigger when I saw it than in that video. I was hoping he would chime in on this thread and post a new photo or video.
If i had my way, that is the exact setup I would have in my basement for a second tank. A nice 45-60G cube, with a crispa, and a pair of clowns... It's fascinating! I love the relationship between the two.
Beautiful looking nems, you are all making me jealous
Thanks everyone for the kind words. The fish is A. chrysopterus. I currently have a trio of them with 1 large, 1 medium, and 1 small one. Unfortuneately the large female favors the smallest one in the bunch over the medium sized one. I may need to have an intervention soon. We'll see.
This one doesn't really count because I lost it a few years ago due to the air conditioning being shut off in my classroom over the summer without me knowing about it. I had had it for almost 20 years and at the time was as near as I could figure, the oldest H. crispa in captivity.
Anyway, it was almost 20" across, had a green oral disk and green tentacle tips instead of the usual purple. BTW, the perc in the pic was over 3" long.
Here is a close-up with a pair of maroons that shows the green color of the disk a little better.
Both anemones are/were beautiful. I have had mine for 9 years now. It is not the largest, but it must win a longevity prize of some kind! The tank is 3ft across, so the anemone is somewhere around a foot or a little more across. The ocellaris pair that are hosted by it are not visible in the photo because they are tending their eggs under the left lower edge of the anemone.
