Wht do you use for Apex Internet Connection

I'm using a signal repeater and it keeps losing connectivity with the main router.

What have you guys found to be bullet proof?

I have the same powerline adapter too. Except the one I have is for 500bps

for whatever reason it won't work on the sockets - it works on GFI's only in my place.

They say the power line adapter needs to be on the same cicuirt in the house. So if your router is in a sperate room it won't work. I believe there is a chance it will hop the circuit but probably lose reliability

I should have mentioned, I just got one for an apex I don't have in hands yet and am going to experiment with it..I'll let you know

I gave up on wireless bridges. I threw in the towel and wired my hole house with CAT6. It's a great investment and can be used for all sorts of things aside from Apex, like network cam, Audio-Video, etc.

Since wiring, I've never had a connectivity problem. Before that it was relatively stable, but not perfect. Resets and reboots were a must every once in a while. Running the microwave would kill the signal completely temporarily.

Hope this helps.

Lol, I did the same thing. Unfortunately I wired my house before I knew I would own a tank that required internet access.(talk about lack of forsight???) So needless to say my Ethernet plug is acros room by my TV. So I'll see if one of those power line adapters is the fix to this situation.

Powerlines don't need to be on the same circuit. I've used them in the past and currently use one for an ip camera on different circuits. My solar also uses one. All are on different circuits with zero problems.

+1 when I move it around the apartment it works as long as it is a GFI plug

I found my powerlink adapters and plugged them in. It didn't work on a power strip that was plugged into a 6 outlet splitter, so I plugged it directly into the 6 outlet splitter via an extension cord.

Result: Works more consistently than my ddwrt repeater bridge.

Using Fusion is slightly laggy SOMETIMES. Most of the time it works ok.

Using ipaddress/status.sht works really well. No problems there so far

Will do more tests on consistency. That's what I'm mainly concerned about.

Why does it got to be a gfi?

You got me. I'm going to return these and get another one. Maybe these are faulty. I had these hooked up to a nongfi plug before I went with apex and they worked every now and then. Now just refusing to work at all.

Mrhappy what adapters do you use and what is ipaddress/status.sht

Even Neptune systems says that hardwiring is the only way. HOWEVER, they did change the software version to some other beta version I then had "LESS" (2-3 time a year) issues and sometime connection came back automatically.

I recommend running a wire thought your house's attic (what year is your house?). That what I'm doing for the new build.

its an apartment so there is no attic.

the whole running a hardwire is kinda weak if you ask me. so much these days runs on wireless + the fact that time warner won't do two hardline drops. apparently you can only have one modem in your place unless you rezone for a business account which is twice the price??

Which means you are torn between putting the drop by the tank or placing it by your tv/entertainment

I'm using Asoka PowerLinks. That's what it says on the adapters.

Very consistent so far. And I do not believe the main router and the apex are on the same circuit. I have to check.

And this is the reason why I regret buying a APEX. How is there not WIFI built into this for $500+?

I've been using it the the last month as a $500 light timer..

I use power line on my new apex Neptune setup. Testing it now. It doesn't have to be in the same circuit. I would also prefer wired over wifi adapters. Wifi seems to drop a lot and the only way to fix it is if u pull the plug on your router and power it back on. Wired you really don't have to worry about any dropped connections where your out traveling and wondering why your phones not picking up any connection to your apex.
