Why are my fish so shy?

Ok this may sound silly, but all my fish seem really shy. As soon as u walk past or take the cover off to feed they hide. Sometimes the yellow & vampire tangs won't come back out for 5+ mins. All the fish are fat and healthy. Just seems odd, never had this before.

4x2x2 tank
70ish kg or LR.
Plenty of flow
Plenty of light

Fish list is

Yellow tang
Vampire tang
Bangai cardinal
Fire fish
Mandarin
Red spot blenny
5 blue chromis
Pair of ocellaris chlowns

Any ideas?

Params are fine too

I have one tank that I can only watch the fish from a distance. They dart to the rocks when anyone comes near. I have another where the fish follow around watching YOU!
Go figure.

Yeh. My previous tanks have always had really nosy fish! My cleaner wrasse recently jumped, he was always out. Going to replace him and maybe get another wrasse, as they are always out, may get the others out too?

There could be several reasons, sometimes it's just that two fish don't get on and the constant quarrelling spooks the others. I've seen it happen too on sparsely populated tanks , safety in numbers often leads to more confident stock, too few fish can have the opposite effect. Lastly , check the fish for flukes, sudden shyness is often the first sign that you have an infestation, I know this from bitter personal experience.

Flukes are nasty parasites that live in fishs' gills on on/under their skin. You can do a freshwater dip to verify that the fish has flukes as they will abandon ship from the freshwater.

Ah, they look very healthy. My vampire was flicking a little so I've Just done a weeks treatment of ntlabs anti bacterial and he's stopped. Otherwise theyre fine. never showed any physical signs of white spot though

Flukes wouldn't show up as a typical white spot( ich). Did you ever use prazi pro on any of them?
