Why are streams rare in the states?

Here in the UK I could order 10 pumps right now and have them tomorrow.

So why is there a massive shortage in the US.

Does TUNZE not know they are losing sales?

I seriously dount it is as you state. I know for a fact the US sales excede the UK sales and further our pumps require special transformers and a slightly different design, your pumps are the same standard as the rest of the world. Are we really losing sales? Some things are worth waiting for and we do the best we can. What model pump? If you want a 6080 or a 7300/2 or a 3000/2 or a 2002 I could sell you 10 of those as well. Besides this is an odd post, why do you care if it is hard to get in another country? How does that affect you?

Please, i'm not having a go.. I really love tunze streams i use them myself! But they seem to be pretty limited in the US, and i just wondered why?

They really are easy to get hold of here, no waiting etc. And many shops have stocks of them.

Well, I order them over a hundred at a time, and I wait sometimes 2 months. I pay for them when I order them. I can only figure that UK sales are lower than US and that the need for a unique transformer and lathe turned propeller of smaller size for 60hz makes it harder to supply. Only the US, Canada and Japan use 115V so it limits the need for our voltage compared to 230 which is almost the world standard.

I am sorry I took it the wrong way. I am every bit as stressed as my customers about the shortage but I also know that as a consumer when I really want something I will wait. Unless it is a cheeseburger or a board game or something trivial waiting one month to have something nice seems about the norm. It is how long I waited for my aquarium lighting, for my computer, for my stove and vent hood. I wish I could keep the wait shorter at the very least and before Christmas we actually had stock.

I did not know they had different props...

I order loads of bits from the states as most of the best new "gizmo's" are there. The streams are just oddly the other way around.

I only asked because I talk daily to people in the states (i write computer games for a US publisher). And one of my producers keeps marine tanks. He's been thinking of getting streams for a while now but he said they are pretty hard to get hold of.

I hope the situation will improve soon. As I said, we had it under control by Christmas and then I didn't get any pumps for over a month and now they are coming in again, with any luck things will get caught up and we will have some stock here soon.

And yes, 60hz products have 20% smaller propeller or impeller than 50hz product and the Hz make the products incompatible.
