Why can I not get my 7096 to work with my Mac air

I keep an old PC laptop around pretty much for my 7096 and I'm worried it is not going to live much longer. I have downloaded the latest mac software an while I can get it to sometimes find the device I cannot write and then read back the values I program. What am I doing wrong?

The read from unit feature does not work on the Mac, this is a bug that should be resolved in the next update. If you can write to it, then it is working as best as it can at the moment.
