Why clone smaller

My RBTA split for the first time a couple of weeks ago while I was on vacation. I came back to 2 anemones a few inches away from each other.

Why is the clone smaller? Don't they normally split in half? I have seen others writing of their smaller clone, so I know it is normal. But I don't get how they split at the mouth and end up different sizes.

Just looking to further my knowledge. Thanks.

Them pulling themselves apart is a rather brutal process. You're not going to get two identical sized individuals. It's like when you would tare the last biscuit in half to share with your brother. The two halves are never identical, and you fight over who gets the bigger half.
