Hello all, yesterday I went to my LFS and there were 2 clowns in a 20g tank and they were almost the same size, I guess they where a pair b/c they where swimming together and were the only 2 fish in there. I bought them and put them in my 55g reef(at the exact same time), when I came home from work today 1 of them were dead, why is that, Please help!!!!

It's possible that they were straight from shipment and you got an already-stressed fish. Sometimes that happens soon after introduction to a new tank, and the lfs just quietly removes the body from the tank. You might not see that 3 others in the same shipment died. So there is a certain newcomer mortality.

But to get a real picture, it is useful to know your water parameters, and your acclimation procedure...you did drip acclimate? One may have been stronger than the other.

Clowns change gender to suit the dominant existing mate if they arrive young enough. When you get a second clown, be sure to get a smaller one than the one you have. Tomatoes can be pushy.

IME, wild clowns are always a risk. Not only do they have to be acclimated properly but they also need to be quarantined.
They can be especially prone to disease and whole shipments can die if they are not adequately cared for.
Give us photos of the other fish.
