I was in Waikiki last week for business and made the obligatory trip to the aquarium since it was walking distance to the hotel and only $12 admission. The best part of the aquarium is an outside aquaculture tank with acropora colonies that probably weigh more than me. While browsing the inside, however, I came across a fish I hadn't seen before, but it sure was a beauty. It was a few inches long and I knew it was some kind of angel. I snapped a picture of the plaque so I would remember to look it up when I got home to see about getting one (the fish was too fast). To my dismay I looked it up tonight. Here is the pic I took:

Guess I won't be getting that one.
On a brighter note here are some pics of the outdoor aquaculture tank (its outside and hard to get good pics):

Eh, if you've got $30k laying around, go for it. Would suck if you came home to find it channeled it's Hawaiian roots and went carpet surfing :headwalls:

Waikiki aquarium is great! Did you see the Abe's angel there as well? It's also rare. I never heard of it until I visited the aquarium.

Here's a pic I snapped of it while the peppermint was in QT. The aquarium was redoing the Angels display tank. Hence the QT.

ching chai, ted and andrew have some that are doing well and its not 30K anymore since super collector rufus kimora brought some up last year.

Darn... my car isn't even $30k, and it gets me to work and back to pay for my hobby, as well as incidentals like food, clothing, heat, etc...
No way I'd spend that kind of money for a fish in the tank.
But, that's just me I guess.

:spin3: I am going to guess that the individuals able to drop 10-20K on a fish do not have many of the same financial concerns that you and 98% of the general population have. However, if I was in the same tax bracket as the RC members that bought these Peppermints, I would have a pair in a heart beat. They are a rare and gorgeous fish. I would also take some of those tank bred Personatus too.

Well said. When you look at 15k like 15$ it's hard for some of us to comprehend
