Why does my gbta keep closing?

Well i recently got a gtba for my 46 g bowfront which has been up for almost a yr now... My anemone will be out and about for a good part of the day..... Then it will close all the way up any ideas on why? Tank paramters are sal 1.025 amm and nit are 0 ph is 8.3 kh is 8.1 and cal is 420.

I would suggest checking the temp as well. Maybe it's a little warm for it's taste. Otherwise try doing 3 or more 20-50% water changes over the next three weeks and see if it improves. If so, then at least you know it's something with the water. Are you running carbon? Do you have any other anemones?

I've read that nitrate levels can effect them as well. I just can't remember what level causes them stress right now.

I normally have my nitrate level at (or just above) 0 ppm so I can't say from first hand experiance.

It might be worth it to test your nitrate levels

Well temp on the tank is 78 to 80 and no nitrates

It is completely normal for a BTA to open for only part of the day. This might extend to longer hours as time goes by.
