Why don't you feed silversides?

When I have fed silverside in the past I cut the flesh off the bone and take out the entrails. Seems to be fine...

I don't think it is neccessary to gut the fish. In the wild the nem would catch and eat the whole thing. Mine would sometimes expell some of the spine a few days after eating a whole silverside. That being said, I don't feed silversides any longer.

I prefer TMC's Gamma Lancefish. Small, thin, softbodied fish. Very well packaged. My larger clowns love to eat them as well. Unfortunately, not easy to get, I end up buying 2+ lbs at a time.

Been quite awhile since I have lost an anemone, and I can't attribute any of prior losses to silversides when I used them almost exclusively. IMHO, there are just too many variables to conclude a single feeding in triggering a specimens death.

I had my doreensis and crispa for 5.5 years, and fed silvers once a week for the last 4 years and never had an issue.
But my other tank, nem species w/ 3 LTAs were fine until that particular feeding, and all 3 did the same thing, no other changes, so reason for my conclusion.
Immediately after this I placed 3 BTAs in tank and they were fine, so I can't say anything wrong w/ the tank/water column itself.
I do agree, there is always a chance of something else that caused this, but again, plenty of other food choices, not worth the risk IMO.
