Why So Slow???

Why in the world can't these people get their product out any sooner? Everything is back ordered and no one can tell you with any certainty when you can expect the item you've ordered.

because they have the best stuff, stand behind their product and are not some huge corporate giant. just good quality products shipped out im sure as fast as possible. by the way wrong forum to bad mouth tunze in almost eveyone here loves them, even if it takes awhile

I have addressed this several times but here are the numbers,

Every year sales in the US have doubled, we are on track to be the biggest consumer of Tunze products this year, beating even Germany and France.

Sales worldwide have grown 30% every year for the past 4 years.

We make our products in house and by hand. Sure, the plastic pieces are stamped out by machines but the assembly is entirely done by hand in a small family owned company, run by Axel Tunze with 40 employees. We try our best and I know everyone is really giving 110% and we cannot do more with what we have. We have no desire to change the way our business is run because big companies cannot take the risks we do, they cannot innovate and serve a niche market, they have stock holders to answer to and everything is a dollar sign.

If you look in my photo gallery I have some photos from the factory and you can see just how it is done.

I'm not bad mouthing their product, I love their stuff too, and I don't really mind the wait, but it would be nice to at least be given an idea of when to expect it to be available.

6000's are pretty much nearing being stock items again. The magnet holders I think will also be stock fairly soon. The 6060 and 6080 might be backordered for a short time, same with Osmolators and 220.55 magnet cleaners. Their might be a delay of 2 weeks for these items. The 7095 is kind of treading water, I would still expect a 6 week wait even though they are coming in now. The 6100 is probably about 4-6 weeks out, the wavebox is the only nightmare right now, next week I will get the first units since the first week of January but I was told only 20 pieces.

3rd part of the trilogy, Army of Darkness.

Roger, are the waveboxes that difficult to manufacture, or is the demand for the other streams hampering it?

The wavebox issue is several fold, first, it is a bit complicated to manufacture the bottom piece that covers the pump is cut from an assembled Comline box by hand. It does require a Stream pump which we are already behind on so the focus was getting caught up on those. Third, we had a few of the several hundred sold worldwide fail, we normally have products fail in the rate of 1 per 1000, not 1 per 100 and this had to be investigated and resolved, at the rate of 1 per 100 the warranty costs out weigh any profit we would make so we had to do better. The driver in some instances was overheating and not sounding an alarm, it is a combination of the design and assembly mistakes so it has been redesigned to eliminate the risk of assembly mistakes. We had that worked out about a month ago but it was flu season in Germany just like here and Axel's brother is the fabricator who makes the wavebox and he got sick for a couple weeks and their just was no way to train someone else in such a short time but now they have two people who can make the actual box. I know it looks easy but I can tell you from my prototype, making those parts so perfect they are replaceable and exactly interchangeable takes some real care in construction.

Although I have been patient, it's going to be 3 months that i am waiting for my pair of 6000 with 7095 and magnets. I never had to wait so long for a reef related product :(

Armando, your dealer was the very last one I took before freezing taking any new dealers because of the shortage and he was told ahead of time 8-12 weeks delivery time. I have almost filled his pump order so you should at least be getting your pumps soon. The controller will still take some time.

I personally am far happier to be able to wait to receive a top end product than to only be able to buy crap off the shelf immediately.

I for one would rather wait for my gear, knowing that the company was maintaining its high standards, rather than ramping up its production with a possible drop in quality, or farming production out to a cheaper company with the same results.

Having said that, the sooner this anticipation is over, the happier I'll be!

Whilst I'm waxing lyrical here, just want to thank you Roger for your prompt and helpful advice.

Cheers

Roger,

Do you know when our dealer will be receiving the magnets so I'll be able to use the pumps?

At this point I would be happy to use just the pumps without the controller.

Thank you

So in order to use the pumps without the controller (i also need the magnets), that means they will run full speed 24/7?
