Thanks for your post, Some items such as chillers, sand, salt, and water pumps have additional shipping charges per item. This is due to the weight or size of the item.
MarineDepot.com’s FREE shipping promotion does not include products sent in oversized or particularly heavy boxes. This may include but is not limited to chillers, external water pumps, metal halide ballasts, DIY kits and substrate/sand. These items may still be subject to additional shipping insurance and special handling charges.

MD's price is $19.99 for an 8 lb. container plus $4.00 "special handling". That sounds excessive to me. What's so oversized or overweight about an 8# container of ARM media? I can see the 50# container. But 8#? Come on...
