wich pump on a closed loop

Hi

I have a mag 18 and an OR6500 I want to set up a CL system with 4 outputs to the tank that will pass through an OM squirt. I will make a bleed off port in case the quirt cant handle all of the flow.

my question is.....which of the 2 pumps mentioned above would be better for this application? Mag18 or OR6500.

The pump will be positioned at about the top of the water in the tank.

Easily the OR. Its more energy efficient at 95w vs 145w, puts out almost the same flow at 0 head and much more under pressure where the Mag really drops off, produces much less heat and is much quieter.

What about noise when running external?

I always thought the Mags handled pressure better...

I have 4 OR pumps, use a 3500 external on a closed loop with a Squirt 2 way and its great.
