Wide-mouth jars

Hey, i saw some SunTea jars at the drug store..got me thinking, and googling..anybody ever tried to turn something like one of these larger diameter jars into a skimmer? hell of a lot cheaper than 6" pvc..

its a lot easier cutting and drilling acrylic, then it is glass. Thats a lot of time spent cutting and drilling glass. Also, i dont know if jars and the like are tempered or not.

They would be perfect, but like others said drilling glass is a PITA. There are plastic food containers that work well.

i copied the wrong link. these things *are* plastic..here's a link to the plastic..the suntea jars that i saw in kmart were definitely plastic..i think it could work..more thoughts?

Drilling glass is no tougher than drilling plastic. You just need the right tools.
