Wife likes anemone, but my SPS do not!!!!

I have this anemone that came with some live rock, it's ok, but it is stinging my corals. I want to dump it, but my wife wont let me *maybe I should dump her.... he he he).

Any suggestions on an SPS I could put right in front of it that would sting it back & keep it under control?

It should find a spot and stay there ime if not when it's on the move you can try to move it where you want it and hopefully it will stay there

It has found a spot, it's just getting more & more "happy" and spreading his wings, if you know what I mean. It's been in the same spot for about 6-8 months. I'm tired of it reaching out to touch somebody!

Um. Simpler solution. No offense but your frags are small. Move the frags, and keep all three: the anemone, the SPS, and the wife.

You better get it out because it will split and keep multiplying; I had to get rid of 4 of them and getting them off the rock isn't easy; I used ice cubes at the base to pry it from the rock. Anenomes and SPS will both compete for the best lit area of the tank; sps seem to always lose.

That anemone will get huge in that tank and most likely sting everything to death. Then it'll split and become the dominant and most likely the only thing in there. Anemones are cool if they have enough space from everything else.

As said that booger will get large if it's happy, and if your sps are happy so will the nem. Too small of a tank for both nems and sps. I have rbta's in my 180g and they OWN 1/3 of the tank and are about 13" across when inflated. They started as 1 RBTA about 4" across when inflated about 1yr ago. No there are no sps that can beat up a nem.

Agreed, or at least partition your tank in half and give her half, you the other half haha.

That's great advice. What are good sand dwelling anemones?

Sebae (( H. Crispa ))
H. Malu --- sometimes also referred to as "Sebae" but, is completely different from an H. Crispa ))

All but H. Halu, can/win get over 15" across and do not split.

That's good to know. I've only tried E. quadricolor, and a condy (mistake) so I've never looked into other options. I know haddoni's are very predatory and typically a bad fit for non-species tanks.

I'll have to do more research. Whats the best thread for helping a guy choose an anemone?

I have been keeping S. Haddonis for 12+ years, and in that time I have lost 4 fish, though I have been very lucky in that aspect.

Could start a new thread in the clown/anemone forum, and get all the info you need.
