Wild Caught Fish Not Eating...

I'm afraid, you may be right... Dang shame. I've been after one of these fish for a while, and tried to follow all of the rules. I have an over-sized QT, was meticulous with the husbandry, and all. She's still swimming at the moment, and I've tried one more target feeding, and she still refused to eat again. I have all of the lights off to try to relax her. Not looking forward to what the morning may bring for her...

Forcing her to eat will stress her even more. Try air pump if you have one handy. This will increase oxygen in the water without incresing water flow and may help. Increasing the water flow using a powerhead will stress a weakened fish.

Sorry to hear, you tried your best. The fish had to be sick from the time you brought her home. I feel blessed to have success on my first try with this fish. I lost a Lamarck before this, so I feel your pain. Bought mine from Saltwaterfish. Happy coral also has one now and then.

Thanks Man...
Crazy how bad we feel when loosing a fish, huh?

I'm probably going to take some more time and do some more research before I buy another fish. One side of me says get another one and try again. The other side still feels kinda guilty...

can you divulge your tank setup, age, equipment, size etc?

i seriously doubt it was 2 days from reef to your tank. if it was, thats definitely to your benefit.

retail side of the fish trade is....lets say fishy at times.

I'm very sorry for for the loss of your angel.
I would have placed it a qt tank by itself to begin with or put it straight into dt tank--if it were me, it was probably stressed by the other fish in your qt tank--I'm guessing. Live baby brine and Ova /cylclop should have been tried first w/ squid juice and a very little bit of garlic if it did not respond to the squid smell.
I'm just taking an educated guess, and hope you have future success. Minced scallops may have helped, it works w/ Anthias in my experience. sorry for the loss, it happens to the best of us on occasion.
