Wild caught clowns can be bought at a fish store. If you mean tank raised then the biggest difference is lack of deformities.
I would love to have a chance to do something like this.
Thank you! I definitely want to raise some babies. I need to read up on how to do that. It's very exciting![]()
So what did you do with your babies?
I wish we had better fish stores here, the best one is closing this winter.
I have a pair of this color form (my A. percula pair #4). Their coloration seems to be stable as it has not changed much since I got them over a year ago.
The female has grown quite a bit in that year and I hope that they will start spawning soon. I just moved them to the 40B that replaces my 18" cube.
I find that when I feed mostly flakes, with only some frozen, they lay better with better babies. Exclusive Mysis is really terrible with very poor hatch rate and deformed babies.I've noticed with established pairs that feeling safe, feeding 2-3 times per day and 12hr light cycle definitely promotes spawning behavior. I've also noticed that when I was feeding frozen food the clowns laid more eggs vs. pellets only. Good luck with your pair. Hope they spawn for you soon.

How are the clowns doing?
