Will a 12 inch BTA eat a 4" of another clone?

I put a 4" new RBTA in a 20 gal tank I use to propagate my old RBTA's about a week ago and it is gone without a trace! The tank is home to 12" and an 8" RBTA that I'll be selling or trading. The nems do great in the tank so I put the new one in too.

I know people keep multiple clones in the same tank so I don't think they eat each other, but where is it?

I am sick to my stomach over loosing this little guy. It was solid dark red all over, tentacles, disk and base. Absolutely gorgeous.

The overflow has 1/8" mesh screen and the only powerhead is a tiny 240 GPH Hydor Koralia. Could the powerhead have gotten it if it was moving around?

Just found this in the powerhead. Size of a nickel and the consistency of a piece of squid.
Powerhead got it and this is all that is left.

I cannot begin to explain how upset I am to kill such a beautiful animal by my own stupidity. It doesn't even upset me that I paid 5 times as much for it as I did for my original RBTA. Just hurts to let the poor little critter down, even if it does lack a central nervous system.

Apparently, so do I.....

You didn't post a pic, but maybe the anemone can be saved. Sometimes anemones that are mangled pretty bad can rebound.

Yes...BTA's are very hardy animals...don't throw it out. Just give the piece some time and keep your water quality up there and it's possible it recovers!

OOPS! Here is the pic.
