Will anyone buy the $7500 fish?

3-5 day collection a year in mexican waters. wild caught are still 2-3k, if you want to see expensive angels, genicanthus personatus, or a peppermint angel or conspic will be alot more

Conspics are not. CB ones are $4k. No CITES permits needed as they are CB here in the states

GP and peppermints are well above the clarion price, with the latter being way above it

In all honesty.. I have fresh water discus and if you combine the prices ive spent on discus in the last year it probably adds up to about 2k$. But thats for like 13 discus... So yea 7500$ for a little yellow colored looking flame angel fish naaa...

If i was a millionare why not ? lol

Also tbh if this is only found in mexico what makes you think they actually enforce these fishing bans.. That country is a 3rd world country ive been there many times and its deff a lawless country to be honest.

No one in tjat country cares about laws... Thats why so many come here and break them as well..

Just saying

Well obviously the ban must be pretty well enforced or you'd see them for sale all over the place.

i run a fish store, trust me they arent.

That still doesnt mean anything lol. There are black markets for everything.

Rhino abd elephants horns are illegal yet still poached even though laws are enforced.. That doesnt stop people from killing them.

Whale hunting is banned yet that doesnt stop the Japanese from killing fir research.

Long clawed turtles were banned in Virginia yet a local pet store years ago used to sell them still.. Puppy mills are banned yet local pet stores still conduct illegal activity..

You wont stop it trust me

I guess a $20,000 Peppermint is out of the question then?
Lol in Aussie dollars that's getting closer to 25k .. so id rather opt for a new ute unless of course this fish can breathe air/poops diamonds and I can walk it daily with a fishy bag I'm out !!

On a side note I have been seriously considering a gem tang for quite some time I'm thinking in the next 12 months once I upgrade to the 750 XXL I'll pull the pin on one but even the gem tangs are a hell of a chunk of [emoji383] [emoji383]
I'll more then likely cry though if it doesn't make it through QT [emoji20]

He actually got off pretty cheap like $2,000 fine and a year supervised out of prison watch? The individual was a nice guy and participated here on RC quite often with information, he just made a bad mistake.

to be honest i dont think he did something thats really that wrong i mean ok 40 fish is excessive but he just did what the actual collector does in different circumstances .. with the collector being "allowed" to do it .. i mean like with the way things are going here in australia we will be lucky to be able too wipe our own *** in the next 10 years .. hell if i had the means to try it and potentially make 200k wholesale id consider it too .. not gonna lie .. thats a lot of money.
