Will different species of Clowns fight

I have an established reef tank. It had two Maroon clowns and one always picked on the other till it turned up dead. I decided to introduce another Sebae Anenome so I now have one Clown who favors one Anenome and one with no Clowns. Would it be futile to ad two Perculas and expect them to survive. The Maroon clown has always been very territorial, but at least the two Anenomes are on opposite side of a 150 gal, tank. I would take the Maroon out but if he hears the word net he is long gone. Thanks for any advice. Ray

Unlikely the Maroon will tolerate any other clownfish, other than a mate (same species). It sounds like maybe you had two female Maroons fighting. Have you determined if, in fact, you do have a female? The females are larger and darker in color.

Often female maroons will even reject some males for no known reason.
You can not add other species to HER tank.
You can actually catch most any clown pretty easy, just do it at night, they are pretty sound sleepers.
I've done it lots of times, just be quick w/ a low light flashlight for light.
You can also pair her.
She will most likely travel to both nems.

Technique????

Technique????

Your method sounds best for my needs as my wife likes the percs better anyway. My lfs said they would trade off with me. Anyway is there any special method you use? Like two nets etc. It would be great to get him /her out as I think she my have also badgered to death a Tang about a month ago. She was one of my starter fish too.:angryfire: Well I appreciate the advice. Ray

Well, just yesterday I had to catch mine because we have that fire thingy going on here in sd, thought I was going to evac.
I simply placed a big clear baggy in tank, they dove into nem, I engulfed them, pulled up rock, voila, two bagged clowns, and that was daytime.
At night, long after lights out, they will be sleeping in host.
Come up w/ a small flashlight, use a container or net(a lot of folks don't like nets, but hey..)
You can usually scoop them right up.
I have caught my maroon once, put her in a cup, waited a minute or two and watched her wake and freak.
Clowns are stupid sleepers!
You gotta be smooth and quick, semi stealthy, you have like two minutes to do it, so have lights and stuff out of the way long before.

Oh, and jars work good too, here's my clowns from yesterday, jarred up and ready for bugout!
)I have celophane w/ holes poked and a rubberband around it.)
