Will DOC Skimmer 9011 or 9016 fit in my tank?

Hiya,

I have a flat back hex tank with a built in filter system in the back. I have an area that is 10"L X 5 1/8" W X 17" H. I would like to know if a DOC Skimmer 9011 or 9016 would fit in there. I did check the the size of the skimmer and it seems like it will fit but I am concerned that there might not be enough room for the inlet and outlet of the skimmer to work properly. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Assuming that 17 is the water height and that there is room for the cup as well as the magnet mounts would be on one of the panels that are 10" apart it should be fine. If the magnets would be on the walls that are only 5" apart it may not leave enough room for water flow in and out

How deep is the water? How much clearance do you have above the 17" for removing the cup?

Roger,

The height of the water will be 16" from the bottom. I have plenty of room above the tank to remove the skimmer cup. I don't have a canopy just a skirt around the top of the tank.

The dimensions given on the Tunze website for the 9011 is L 125 x W 113 x H 478 mm (L 4.9 x W 4.4 x H 18.8 in.). Is the height including the skimmer cup also does it include mounting hardware?

Thanks,
Randy
