Will Homemade 2 parts lead to ionic imbalance?

I have been using b-ionic for the last few years and have been happy with its ability to maintain the calcium and alk in my system. Recently I have been looking at going with one of the homemade systems such as BRS's or Randy's as it seems it would be quite a bit less expensive.
I am under the impression the the manufactured two parts such as b-ionic leave behind not only sodium and chloride, but also the other elemental components that make up seawater.
So my question is, if I switch to a system where i am mixing the solutions myself, and have to make dilutions to counter the increase in specific gravity over time, will I be losing a measurable amount of the remaining seawater elements in an effort counter the rise in sodium and cloride of the tankwater??

Most or all of the DIY 2-part ingredients will raise sodium and chloride over time. Most tanks get enough water changes that this effect isn't all that important, but B-Ionic might (or might not) provide a somewhat better ionic balance over the short term.

If you are using the improved recipes that use MAG flake and Epsom salt, then the issues around ionic balance are minor, and I would not assume that all commercial two parts are any better.

I have personally stopped doing 2 part of this same reason, as well as companies like Kent and company who makes B ionic dont tell you what is exactly in their solutions. I tried to follow Randy's solution (thanks for all your articles Randy :) your work is my reef bible :) ) although couldnt find the exact chemicals around here and just went with fauna marine salts. this way, at least u know what you are dosing
