Will lighting change move my nem?

So my nem has been in the tank and good so far for 5 days. He's not in a bad spot, just not where I'd like it to be. If I shade him while the lights are on and leave a small portion of him exposed will he begin to move that way as long as he likes the flow? Or is it an exercise in wasted time and effort?

most probably he'll move on that direction.but if he dont like it or move the shade from it's location he'll probably return to same spot.he'll go wherever he feels better.its up to him.btw what type of anemone?

It's worth a try, you could also try changing the direction of your water flow and see if you can encourage him to move.
