i've promised my mantis to someone but i think it's molting, haven't seen it in a day or two. it's usually out every day.

isn't molting a stressful, vulnerable time for a mantis??

how long should i wait after her molt before i let her go to her new home?? i don't want to stress her out any more than necessary during this time.

thanks

You want to wait until after the molt, definately.

As far as how long, once the mantis starts whacking things with an attitude again (Snails, crabs,whatever...the feeding stick), it should be pretty 'solided up', as far as it's shell. Dr, Roy might have other advice, however.

Let the animal tell you when it is ready to face the world. When it reappears, it is probably safe to move it, but be extra careful not to induce any temperature or osmotic shock.
