will the osmolator work?

I am considering using the osmolator to provide top off water to my sump. The storage tank for the r/o water is about 5' tall the pump will have to send water up another 2' where it will travel about 20' where it will return down to ground level at the sump. Will the pump cord be long enough to exit the storage container? Will it be able to overcome the head pressure? Will it siphon water to the sump when off?

Siphoning will be a definite problem, I am 100% sure it will siphon, unless the end point is above the top of the water level in the reservoir that will be your biggest problem. Long runs of hose while bot impossible do create additional hassles with priming the pump, it has to fight all that length of air to get going and this can add frustration. Additionally I would always consider reservoir volume to be the final level of safety, I wouldn't want that much top off water ready to go into my tank. I would recommend the osmolator, but I would just put a 10 gallon reservoir under your tank and top off into the tank with the sensors mounted in the sump and that is the optimal set up for safety and relaibility.
