Will this be OK for a couple weeks?

Megalodon

Clowning Around
I recently blew my two dimmable Meanwells by using a 12V power source after the 10V I originally had stopped working. Fortunately I have a non-dimmable 700mA driver to tide me over until the new drivers arrive, which will take two weeks here in Canada.

I'm wondering, if I'm powering only the royal blues for two weeks, will my SPS be OK? There are 12 running over 29 gallons, on a 20X4.5 inch plate, with the corals no more than six inches below it.

Thanks!

i think it ill be ok for short term coz they will have some light and in wild there are days and days without any light when storms and bad weather rolls in.

Is it a standard 29 or a cube 29? You'd be better off with the cube, obviously, because the lights will all be more concentrated, but given the dimensions of your plate, I'm assuming it's a standard. It also depends on the optics, etc. But I think you'll be fine. Your color might change a bit in 2 weeks, so if you can borrow and extra light, that'd be great. But I think you'll be fine. And making sure they are all right under the light instead of off to the side will also help.

It's a cube and all the SPS are right under the light. There are no optics. I have some zoas and softies further down as well as a RBTA I forgot to mention. I might borrow a 30" Coralife T5 with a 10,000K bulb. It will hang off the side on either end (my tanks only 21" across) but it's better than nothing.

Two weeks are really pushing it, try to get some power compact or PAR38 or just any light source you could get, and use them for the time being, it's better than just the royal blues.

It will be ok. They will probably lose a bit of colour, but if you can run Royal Blue LED's during that time they wont die off or anything like that. In one of my previous tanks I had acros and LPS corals last more than 7 days without any light. I then run 2xnormal output T8 tubes for a further 5 days and they were fine.
