Wimpy Emperor

Anyone else here have a big "tough" fish that acts like a baby? My emperor is pretty well full grown and while he loves to eat out of my hand he'll run and hide at the slightest surprise movement. Quite often while running and hiding he'll bark the whole way.
The really sad part about his whole hide and survive routine is he goes and lays flat on the bottom under one of the wave makers, as if that some how conceals him rather than the rocks. It's just really funny to see this big fish with a terrified expression laying on it's side and waving a fin at you.

I think I'm getting easy to amuse in my old age.

I have a beautiful white bar eight inch Maculosus Angel that is afraid of a new three inch yellow tang. It has been 3 months since the Tang was added but now the large Angel only comes out of his cave to feed. The fast swimming of the tang seems to freak out the Angel. I'm going to have to rehome the Tang if I ever want to see my Mac. again.

My emperor also swims on his side at the top of the water and throws water at you when he wants to be fed. It's cute, till you get salt water in your eye. Little turd monkey is getting really good aim.

Mine is not shy. You can't scare him. He runs into the spoon I feed with and doesn't flinch. He doesn't run from your hand. He gets in the way when I scrape the glass and I have to physically move him by pushing him out of the way.

Mine is a terror...
Chases everything in my tank from a 10" naso to a 6" clown trigger...
Believe it or not the only fish that he doesn't mess with is a pair of 10year old clowns which don't let anybody near their anenome. I've witness my clown actually nip the emperor.

Hey Crayola there might be some people who think that is a good Emperor you have. So many people try to mix large angels but get to much aggression. I'm sure someone out there is saying "with an angel like that I could also try adding a Queen Angel".

Mmmm, no. I thought about a blue girdle but after some reading I decided it wasn't worth the risk. I love my emperor too much to risk him. He has two medium butterflies as friends. Every once in a while he'll chase the Pakistan but then turns around and dives back into his Welk shell and hides (it's a football sized Welk shell).
