Well after being separated by egg crate for a week I let the Gem out. Aftera few initial squabbles I decided to turn all lights out and cover the tank.
The next day when lights came on...All good. Definitely not friends, but they tolerate each other without issues. Peace has been obtained

glad it's working out for you!

i added a vrolik's wrasse (in an acclimation box for at least 2 hours) yesterday. since nobody was paying a bit of attention to him, i released him. he went right to pecking at flat worms and joined in the feeding frenzy last night. but then my red velvet fairy wrasse started terrorizing him. chase, chase, chase. didn't see any nipping but i think the vrolik's buried himself. haven't seen him since yesterday afternoon.

never a dull moment, i swear!
