I've got no problem with my woman keeping a reef tank, as long as she can pay for it from the money she gets from her two jobs. And she'd better get my dinner made and the house cleaned and the laundry done and the rest of her womanly duties completed before she tends to that tank each day, after she gets home from her two jobs, that is.

And dagnabbit, I told her to get me a beer!! Where IS that woman????? :hammer: :uzi:

:D just kidding, of course (it was too easy, I couldn't resist) :love1: Great looking tanks!!!!

Wow ladies-amazing tanks on this thread! I just started in saltwater this past spring but have set up 3 reef tanks. Now have a 20g Long and a 10 gallon. Small tanks. Am now working on setting up a 40 Breeder with halides so I can get some different corals and am also setting up a 35 sea horse tank for a couple erectus. No help from hubby except for when he set up my ro/di unit. Now if only I can sweet talk him into plumbing a sump tank for me for my new 40 gallon breeder :)
If that doesn't work, I can always learn and do it myself.
A couple pics. I tend to re-arrange often--easier than moving furniture~~

This is my reward to myself for getting three kids raised and on their own, starting my own business from home so I can be here to tend to my new hobby. I'm not a young kid, but this makes me feel young---so much to learn and having a blast learning--and it impresses the heck out of my kids to see what I'm up to :)

ROTFL :D Niiiice. Actually, I do have two jobs - my 'day job' working at a college and a weekend LFS job to help finance my spendy hobby. My husband never questions the cost of corals, fish or supplies, he knows I work my butt off to pay for them. And guess who does the dishes? I'll give you a hint... not me ;)

Arbee, nice tank. I have GOT to get me some more corals...

That goes for me too lol. Well anyways ,ladies, great job! What was up with the Geek comment tho haha? Im 17 and i dont know any geeky reefers in DFW  .

I think that most women stay away from Marine tanks and stick with freshwater because the chemistry/plumbing/carpentry/electrician scare them away.

little puff
I would have to disagree. There are plenty of women scientist, plumbers, electricians, carpenters. women are most likely abundant in this hobby. problem is most women also have jobs, kids, husbands, family commitments etc. and time is stretched thin. Most just spend less time on the boards.
