Wondering what camera u guys r using?

Nikon all the way my wife and I (mainly my wife) have a d90 and a d700. We wont shoot anything else.

Nikon D90 here. Got it refurbished for around $600, but I think I was a lucky one... Oh and that was just the body, no lens since I already had a couple.

why do you prefer the 5d over the 7d?

Image quality is better. Even though I've got fewer pixels with the 5D, the full-frame sensor makes a noticeable difference. I'm also primarily a landscape shooter so the 7D's better AF/fps/ISO range really doesn't matter to me.

Pentax K20d. easily found under 600. You can probably find a K7 body for 600. and Definitely a Kx for under 450.

I'm still using the K20d

I'm really wanting to upgrade to a Pentax K5 and NikonD700 combo!

Nikon D200 currently....pondering upgrade to D7000.....OR adding a Canon body and running two systems to tap the best of both worlds.

Choices choices.........and thousands of $$$$$$ that I don't yet have.

I use a Nikon D300 and (usually) a manual focus 55mm f/3.5 micro lens.

for a <$600 setup, you could buy even an old D70, and use that lens on it in manual mode. That might run you about $300.
Takes wonderful images, on the cheap.

Idk what I was thinking... I thought the 7d was the full frame sensor...

If you look, D90 bodies for $600 isn't uncommon now. I love mine. Just be patient.

A quick peek on Craigslist locally has one for $550 and one for $650 in the last day alone. One of the major camera shops here has one on it's used list for $499.95.

D70's are going for $200. :) With kit lenses for $300 or so.

Shop around and find one that will meet your needs. I've seen some pretty amazing shots with a D70 and a kit lens.

Somedays I wish I had followed my own advice. ;) But I just love that the D7000 will let me meter with all my older AI-S lenses.
