I picked up a new Blue Throat Trigger tonight from Nemo's in Granite City.

The picture I have is when I was putting him in the tank still in the bag. I fed the tank right afterwards and then tried taking pic's... Guess what? That don't work very well with mysis all over the tank

So for now all I have is pic still in the bag. Looks good, and healthy just like the last one. But this time there is no way for this one to go carpet surfing

He is swimming all over the tank like he has been here for weeks.

He is about 4-4.5" a little bigger than the last one.

Yeah me too!! I went with the Blue Throat because they say they are reef safe, (My Fingers Crossed) Pink tails are too, but I like the Color in the Blue Throat better.. The Crosshatch is awesome, but cost a lot too.

They are cool. I had no idea pinktails were reefsafe until I saw one at GWA then I researched it. He's an interesting looking fish.

That one looks good. He still being reefsafe?

I have been told, and read only really small ones. Their mouths, they say are smaller, and don't. There are a few peppermints in the tank so time will tell.

I had no problems with the other one, but he jumped ship 5 days after I had him.

blue jaws are in the Genus Xanthichthys they are planktonivores they have a very different mouth structure compared to the Baslitoides. the Baslitoides have a very strong mouth and pointed at the front for getting great leverage on anything to eat. they have the fused teeth for tearing apart anything. rock, shells anything. in general triggers are not reef safe, but those in the Xanthichthys Genus are fairly reef safe. i have a blue jaw and he is extremely mild tempered althouh he is in my FOWLR tank he hasen't messed with the few mushrooms in there, but i keep him well fed

He's beautiful!

My pinktail leaves corals alone but goes after snails and timid fish, and he chewed apart the tube of the feather duster worm I brought home. He likes using those teeth.

Triggers are so nice to look at, but I have been afraid to put one in the tank. How well must you keep them fed? Wondering about the peppermints Lonnie. I bet they are gone soon...

Well the one peppermint shrimp his his own little hole he hides in.. The only time I see him is during feeding, so he might be safe. I only have 1 whopping snail other than the ones that hide in the sand, and only a hand full of Blue legged hermits. So for the most part I'm safe. As long as he don't eat corals I'm fine with that.
